The Lofts at Spencer’s Corner is a beautiful multifunctional development in the heart of Centerbrook Village. We at HOPE Partnership have been working tirelessly for years to make this project a reality and are proud to announce that it is currently under construction and will be completed in early 2021.

 

HOPE Partnership, Inc., through its wholly-controlled affiliate, The Lofts at Spencer’s Corner LLC, has acquired 15 of the 29 commercial units, all contiguously located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the complex.  The gut-rehab of the spaces will create 17 residential units in a mix of one, two and three bedrooms.  The units will feature modern kitchens and bathrooms, most with 2-story “loft” floor plans.  The first floor spaces will remain a mix of retail and offices with the exception of a main lobby area containing the elevator which will be maintained by HOPE as the residential entrance

The Lofts at Spencer’s Corner is being financed through funding from Essex Savings Bank, the Connecticut Department of Housing, the Federal Home Loan Bank, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation. 

 

The Lofts at Spencer’s Corner is a creative solution to address both the need for more affordable housing and the opportunity to redevelop one of Essex’s central commercial properties by creating a dynamic mixed-use housing/retail destination. The location and architecture lends itself well to a conversion to residential units and the addition of people living, working, and shopping in the heart of Centerbrook will breathe new life into this central property and the local community.
