On Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, HOPE Partnership is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving.
Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities. We invite you to declare a better world. Join the movement and give this November 29th.
Our cause is to advocate for affordable workforce housing, because everyone deserves to have a place to call home.
Did you know:
• Middlesex County wage earners must earn $23.35 per hour to afford a 2 bedroom apartment. That’s $48,000 per year. Nearly half of the 683 occupations in CT pay less than that.
• Connecticut is losing a higher percentage of its 25-34 year olds than any other state — leaving for other states where housing is less expensive.
• HOPE has been educating and advocating to more than 20 community groups about these facts this year!
• HOPE is actively involved with property owners determining the feasibility of four developments in the lower Middlesex County!
Giving to HOPE will open new doors for development and further our important advocacy work.
We encourage you to give today>>
